WWE legend The Rock recently paid tribute to his uncle WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i of the The Wild Samoans.
Afa recently passed away at the age of 81 and tributes have been poured for the legend. The Great One has also paid an emotional tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer.
The Wild Samoans were legendary figures in tag team wrestling, known for winning championships across various promotions and being three-time WWF World Tag Team Champions.
On Instagram, The Rock honored Afa and Sika and pointed out their major accomplishments, including their induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Rock has also shared his thoughts, expressing his love and respect for his uncle Afa, who he said is now at peace with his brother, Sika.
The Rock also referred to The Wild Samoans as trailblazers in pro wrestling. The former WWE Champion dropped a photo of Afa, Sika, and his grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, alongside Professor Toru Tanaka. He mentioned that the photo captured the love and bond among the men while also showing their strength.
“Rest in love, Uncle Afa ❤️️. Uncle Afa Anoa’i is finally at peace with his brother, Uncle Sika Anoa’i. The Wild Samoans were trailblazers in professional wrestling, multiple-time WWE tag team champions, and were rightfully inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The last picture is one of my all-time favorites—it’s my uncles Afa and Sika with my grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, and I believe Professor Toru Tanaka. What I love about this picture is you can SEE & FEEL the love and mana among these smiling, loving men. You can also see and feel that this wasn’t a table you wanted to mess with
I love you, Uncle, and I’ll never forget what you did for our family in ‘87. “Come to me” from Nashville to Bethlehem. Give my grandpa and my dad a kiss and a hug from me. ❤️️
