The Rock encourages NXT star

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may not be involved in the wrestling world much anymore, but he’s kept up with the product to a degree. The Rock will occasionally make his way to Twitter to compliment up and coming talent like Ricochet and Velveteen Dream or main roster mainstays like Kevin Owens.

It’s always great for wrestlers of this generation to be recognized by the Great One, and it seems the former WWE champion has his eyes on yet another NXT star.

Recently, Dakota Kai had a Q&A session with Byron Saxton on WWE.com. The Captain of Team Kick mentioned that The Rock was one of the reasons that she decided to step into the squared circle.

My brother was the one who actually got me into WWE. He watched it all the time, and I started to watch with him. I was hooked on The Rock and his ability to captivate an audience. From there, one of my friends I used to do athletics with told me about a local company that needed more girls. That was in 2007, and I haven’t looked back since.

The Rock took time to respond to Kai’s words, encouraging her to have fun and to stay away from backstage politics.

While she was unsuccessful in her opportunity against Shayna Baszler, it’s clear that Kai has caught the attention of the WWE Universe and people backstage. With a ringing endorsement from The People’s Champion, things are only getting better for Dakota Kai.
