The Rock is still regarded as of the most popular pro wrestlers in the history of the business. He has competed against the best of the best as far as the world of professional wrestling. This includes someone like Chris Jericho, who has had several matches against The Great One. Roman Reigns vs The Rock major spoilers were also leaked previously.
On the occasion of The Rock’s 25th Anniversary with WWE at Survivor Series, fans assumed The Rock would make a surprise appearance. The Rock was mentioned in various instances throughout the pay-per-view, but he did not show up at all.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, The Rock was out of The United States as he is busy filming a movie and because of COVID-19 regulations and quarantines, he could not appear for WWE Survivor Series.
“Dwayne’s out of the country and he can’t come back. They’re doing a movie and he can’t go back-and-forth because of quarantine. There was no way he could be at the show tonight.”
Big E recently spoke to Newsday, where he revealed he wants to face The Rock as well.
“I would love that. If the opportunity comes along, of course I’m snatching it up. I don’t know if I’d lobby for it. The one that I’ve been lobbying for is the Goldberg match, because he was my idol as a kid. But, you don’t get any better than the Rock. As far as I know, he’s still the biggest box office draw in Hollywood, and he’s from WWE.
That, in and of itself, is incredible. What he did in this company — just being absurdly charismatic and entertaining — he is the blueprint. He broke the mold. You know, when people ask me about my proudest career accomplishment, I often will cite our promo segment with the Rock. It wasn’t even a match. We just had a promo segment with the Rock a few years ago. Going out there and taking a Rock Bottom, that was pretty wild, pretty cool. So I would absolutely love that match, for sure.”
