The Rock WWE Rumor Leaks Before Clash at the Castle

WWE Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event is set to take place at Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, September 3. This will mark the company’s first premium event in UK in over a decade. It has been announced that Drew McIntyre will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and fans are quite excited about the clash. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ will certainly have the home turf advantage. It turns out WWE is seemingly discussing the plans from Reigns to drop the titles at the event. Rumors are also spreading on what role a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns will play.

Roman Reigns title plans revealed

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan for Roman Reigns is to face The Rock at WrestleMania 39. However, if Reigns ends up dropping his titles at Clash At The Castle, the plan is for him to gain back the titles before WrestleMania.

”But they’ve kept the title on him for so long most figured it was because they didn’t want to beat him prior to the match. The reality is that McIntyre could win, and lose it back before Mania and they could still do Reigns vs. Rock, and/or the Money in the Bank winner.”

Reigns has been the Universal champion since the Payback event on August 30th 2020. It has been the longest reign in the championship’s history and the sixth-longest world championship reign in WWE history. He is also scheduled to celebrate 2-year reign on this week’s Clash At The Castle go home episode of SmackDown.
