Maryse also spoke about her friendship with fellow Diva Michelle McCool, who was also part of the division during the same era.
“I was so blessed to have Michelle McCool as a friend. We would travel together, we would talk about things. We would try to find solutions. We would talk to the guys, we would talk to the agents, we would talk to the producers, we would talk to the writers. We were just trying to make a difference. It was tough, but at least we had each other.”
Maryse left WWE in 2011 to pursue other ventures but returned to the company in 2016, where she remains to this day. She is a two-time Divas Champion and has also held the WWE Women’s Championship. In recent years, the company has made significant strides in women’s wrestling, including the introduction of the Women’s Revolution and the evolution of the division into a more prominent role on the main shows.
