It was announced earlier that WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will choose his opponent during SmackDown Live!. The member of New Day proceeded to choose Randy Orton as his opponent for Summerslam.
Following which Orton arrived and claimed that he is set to end Kofi’s journey in three seconds which prompted Kofi to say that he and Orton have a past and added that Orton tried to jeopardize his career as well.
After a verbal tussle, Orton concluded by accepting the match and stating that Kofi was not even meant to be here since he took the place of the injured Mustafa Ali at the start of this year from where the champion’s rise began.
