Peyton Royce and Billie Kay won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles back at Wrestlemania this year. However, since then, they barely had any decent challengers for the title, but that is going to change soon.
WWE confirmed that The IIconics will be defending their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against The Kabuki Warriors on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live.
After defeating The IIconics in a non-title match in Tokyo last month, The Kabuki Warriors earned the right to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Asuka & Kairi Sane will get their opportunity at the titles tonight.
Asuka and Kairi Sane have bearly been used ever since their inception as a tag team, so it will be great to see them in action. We wonder whether this match will be a one-off sort of affair or if WWE plans on setting up a feud between the two teams for Summerslam.
