All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling are two of the top professional wrestling promotions in the world. Many fans have desired the two work together eventually. In the past, it was highly unlikely that the two would form a partnership.
However, it seems Harold Meiji’s departure from NJPW made it possible for a partnership. Tony Khan gave a comment to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter regarding Meiji’s departure from NJPW. While they are unsure what to expect, it seems the ”forbidden door” could finally open.
“I’M NOT SURE YET. BUT MY INITIAL GUT FEELING IS IT COULD BE GOOD.”
It was also noted that some NJPW Stars believed Meiji had no business sense when it came to professional wrestling. One Star even called him an ”idiot” when it came to understanding the business. Meji’s success in other businesses did not translate well in professional wrestling.
With Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley already having NJPW ties, it will be interesting to see when the two promotions start working together.
