Tony Khan updates fans on the status of Britt Baker and Fenix

On AEW Dynamite, Britt Baker injured her knee in a tag team match, removing her from Double or Nothing. She was replaced in her match against Kris Statlander by Penelope Ford. Initial reports claimed that it could be a six-nine month injury. Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case. AEW President Tony Khan revealed as much during the Double or Nothing media scrum, stating:

“Britt will be out probably, we think, six weeks maybe. I think less than two months ballpark is a good estimate. She’ll be addressing her medical situation on Wednesday on Dynamite.”

During the PPV, Dr. Michael Sampson stated that Baker had suffered an interior tibia fracture, a partial LCL tear, and a small degree of a popliteus tendon tear.

Fenix was also injured on Dynamite when he took a nasty fall to the floor after missing a dive. Tony Khan believes that he’ll be back soon.

“Fenix, it was close. He’s limping. I don’t think he would’ve been able to give 100% and also it wouldn’t have been smart to put him out there in that situation. We madea judgment call. I think he’ll be back soon.”

Fenix was replaced in the Casino Ladder Match by Joey Janela at Double or Nothing.
