Tyler Bate was the inaugural WWE UK Champion, winning the title in the company’s first UK Championship Tournament back in 2017. Since then, he and the rest of British Strong Style (Trent Seven and current UK Champion Pete Dunne) have worked for NXT and other promotions, helping to build the name of the NXT UK brand.
Specifically, the trio continued to work for Progress Wrestling, with Seven recently capturing the Atlas Championship, retiring Douglas Williams in the process. However, Progress recently announced that Tyler Bate has been injured. Though it wasn’t revealed how serious it was, Bate would have to miss the Progress Wrestling Chapter 77 event.
Bate was scheduled to face Timothy Thatcher at the event but was replaced by “Present” William Eaver.
