Top Superstar returns and dismantles Kofi Kingston on SmackDown LIVE

On this week’s SmackDown LIVE, Kofi Kingston and Sami Zayn put up a stunning match, taking each other to their absolute limits. However, after the match ended, Paul Heyman walked out to the ring with Brock Lesnar’s Money in the Bank briefcase.

Heyman also teased opening the briefcase but before he did so, a returning Dolph Ziggler ambushed Kingston from behind. Ziggler then dismantled the WWE Champion right in the middle of the ring.

After this assault Ziggler appeared in another segment later down in the show and cut a terrific promo about how he should have been in Kingston’s place, achieving all that Kingston has. He also said that he believes he should be the WWE Champion and so made his chase for the title official.

Your headline is very misleading. At no point, not even when he was world champ, was Dolph Ziggler ever seen as a “top” superstar, no matter how much the fans wanted him to be.
