Triple H on AJ Styles’ injury

Triple H recently spoke with Catch-Newz to promote NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. While discussing the developmental brand, he was asked about the possibility of replacing AJ Styles at WrestleMania should he not be able to compete. Triple H said:

You always have to have a plan B and, just in case, you have a plan C. AJ is an incredible performer. Replacing AJ Styles would be very difficult. He’s not necessarily a replaceable talent, but we would do our best.

AJ is working diligently on rehabing his injuries and getting himself in tip top shape for WrestleMania. We are trying to help him with that process of getting him the best care and the best rehab possible, and we’re hoping for the best.

Obviously we’ll get him doctors to make sure that he is ready to go and get a medical clearance, if that’s possible. He’s working very hard at it, so we’re hoping for the best.

Styles had told Catch-Newz earlier in the week and said that he doesn’t plan on missing WrestleMania.

If my leg got cut off I’d find a way to make it to WrestleMania. I will be wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania. Don’t worry about it. It’ll be fine.

AJ seems adamant about taking on Nakamura on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Hopefully by the time Mania rolls around, he’s ready to go. Styles hasn’t officially wrestled in a match since taking on Rusev on last week’s episode of Smackdown Live and didn’t get involved in the assault on Nakamura by Rusev and Aiden English this week.
