Triple H ‘Angry’ AEW Backstage Rant Leaks

Triple H and top NXT management buried AEW Dynamite backstage at NXT last night when discussing NXT moving to Tuesday and losing the Wednesday Night Wars. Tony Khan mocked NXT for leaving Wednesdays.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio, “There was actually a team meeting before the show tonight about the move to Tuesdays. So, they started out by talking about how six years ago at WrestleMania 31, so that’s San Jose, how the little NXT promotion sold out a show and look how far we’ve come, and they’ve always been on Wednesday nights and then the competition came to their night and tried to bully them.”

“This is the opposite of what they told the talent 18 months ago. Now they have RAW as the lead-in. It used to be in television when you follow the show, not the next night, but anyway. Now that they have RAW as the lead-in everything is going to change.”

Ringside News transcribed Meltzer’s comments. AEW is now the lead in for the 1FC weekly MMA show on TNT starting in two weeks.

Meltzer said, “They’re starting in two weeks. They’re doing, I think it is a four-week trial to see how it goes. They’re going to have Demetrious Johnson; Adriano Moraes will be defending his Flyweight Title against Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez is also fighting. There’s a bunch of other stuff. There will be a World Muay Thai I believe, but every week there’s gonna be some big names and some big named fights and it’s gonna be 10:00 eastern right after AEW Dynamite.”
