The former nine-time WWE Champion and five-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H recently made a shocking announcement of his retirement following some health scare in the past.Many stars poured in their thoughts for ‘The Game.’ He spoke with Stephen A. Smith for ESPN this week and revealed that he will never wrestle again as he has a defibrillator in his chest.
Triple H provides an update on his future at WWE
He currently serves as the WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development. There have been speculations about his future at the company. Talking about it, Triple H claimed that his foot is not off the gas, but he has a new role:
“No, my foot’s not off the gas, I suppose in some manner I’ve got to step back a little bit. I’m still in recovery and my endurance is not exactly quite what it used to be before. But right now I’m back, I’m at the office. I am fully focused on recruiting and developing our talent in the future.”
Hunter is a veteran in the industry and ‘The Game’ went on to claim that his focus is on finding potential future stars such as Gable Steveson. He is eyeing to nurture the up and coming stars of the company:
“It’s finding that, it’s creating that future. That’s the biggest focus for me and as we move forward from there, it’s making sure WWE is a success for generations to come.”
Hunter had also revealed that there were plans in place for him to compete at WrestleMania 38. However, the plans were scrapped following his serious cardiac event in the fall last year. The marquee WWE premium live event is set to take place on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3 from AT& T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
