Vince McMahon was the CEO of WWE before he had to step down following allegations of sexual misconduct and allegedly having paid $12 million in hush money in a huge scandal. He eventually retired from WWE for good and was replaced by his daughter Stephanie McMahon as the CEO of WWE. His son-in-law Triple H is now the Executive Vice President of Talent and Relations as well. Vince McMahon also lied about quitting WWE recently but ended up being real in the end.
Vince McMahon originally had something else also in mind when it came to his comeback to WWE. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the former WWE Chairman was looking to take over creative control of WWE a week ago, and he wanted to be involved in the day-to-day operations of running the company.
“I think everybody kind of…is looking at this going like that really what’s going to happen and being very skeptical of that in the long run….because Vince wanted it back to run the thing….I mean that’s what he wanted…that’s what he was looking for, a week ago….so he didn’t get that.”
