Triple H on Renee Young leaving WWE, Lars Sullivan returning, and more

WWE Hall of Famer Triple H took part in the press conference for NXT TakeOver: XXX earlier today. He answered questions on a wide range of topics, including the Wednesday Night Wars, Lars Sullivan’s potential return, and Renee Young’s imminent departure from WWE.

Triple H on Wednesday Night Wars

The senior producer of NXT was asked to comment on the ongoing ratings clash between NXT and AEW on every Wednesday night. In response, Triple H said that he was only focused on NXT and grateful for the level of engagement from fans.

“At the end of the day, for me, it’s about our product and our fans. We put out the best product we can and hope fans enjoy it and hope they want to watch. That’s really what you do and if you’re putting out a great fun product and if fans want to watch it, then phenomenal, if not you have to rethink it and go in a different direction.” H/T Sportskeeda Wrestling

The Game further explained how he deals with all the online debates.

“I don’t worry about those arguments, I don’t worry about the conversations, I don’t worry about all that other stuff. I worry about NXT and making it the best product possible. How are the talent performing? What can we do better? How can we write better shows? How can we tell better storylines?”

On Renee Young’s exit from WWE

It was reported earlier that Renee Young is set to leave WWE soon and has already handed in her notice a week ago. Triple H refused to comment on the status of her departure. But he did share his experience of working with her and the big role Young played in the company for the past 8 years.

“Yeah, I won’t comment on the status of Renee and I’ll let Renee deal with that on her terms. But as far as her as a person and as a part of WWE, it’s been awesome. And she has been a large part of this, I personally enjoyed working with her tremendously and it’s been awesome to see her do and attack different things within the company and try different roles. And I thought she’s done an amazing job of all of them. I’ll let her handle the rest of it but as far as her contribution, they’ve been awesome.” H/T Sportskeeda Wrestling

Triple H also talked about Pat McAfee and said that his match against Adam Cole will show why NXT decided to go with him.

On Lars Sullivan’s potential return

Sullivan’s last appearance on WWE TV was nearly a year ago. But recent workout videos from his Instagram account had fans speculating if he would return to the ring anytime soon.

When asked about it, Triple H said that he had no update on the matter.

“I have not seen those [Lars Sullivan’s workout videos]. I, to be honest, don’t have an update on that.” H/T Sportskeeda Wrestling

Triple H added in the end that he couldn’t wait to have the crowd back in the arena as it was before the pandemic, so they could give opinions on what they liked about the NXT shows and what they didn’t.
