Triple H removed Bayley from WWE Raw at the last minute, FightfulSelect.com reports. She was set to accompany Damage Ctrl. on Raw to the ring.
As previously reported, Roman Reigns secured a victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, continuing his historic reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. However, according to a recent report by Fightful Select, the decision for Roman to win wasn’t a last-minute thing, but rather something that had been in the works for quite some time.
Initially, the plan for the main event wasn’t even for Reigns to face Rhodes, as there were ideas pitched for Rhodes to go up against John Cena. However, there were no plans for Reigns to lose or for Cody to win the belts when Vince McMahon was in charge of creative. Once he “retired,” plans were put into motion for Cody to main event.
There were people backstage who defended the idea of Roman winning, and it was discussed that he would do so. However, the match’s finish was set weeks ago, and several people were made aware of it. It’s unclear when the talent was informed about the decision. The interference plan wasn’t given to talent, referees, or ringside staff until the day before, and the involvement of several people was unknown.
Interestingly, sources suggest that Vince McMahon was not involved in the decision. It’s unclear who made the final call, but it’s evident that the decision for Roman to win had been in the works for a while.
