WWE Hall of Famer Edge might be written off the programming. On the latest edition of RAW, Dominik Mysterio appeared in a pre-recorded promo, where he addressed Edge ahead of their match on the red brand. In the promo, Mysterio said that the Rated R Superstar got “what he deserved” in recent weeks. He then proceeded to address his father, Rey Mysterio. Rhea Ripley whispered something in Dominik’s ear, and then the younger Mysterio addressed Rey directly, telling him he was no longer his “baby boy.
In the main event, Dominik squared off against the Rated R Superstar. Towards the end of the match, Rey jumped in the ring to plead with Edge not to spear his son. The rest of the members of The Judgment Day attacked and Edge was taken out by several chairs to the leg from Dominik and the Coup de Grace on top of a chair from Balor. Jimmy Smith then immediately said that it looked like Edge’s leg might be broken.
Edge might be out with the ‘injury’
The angle came across as a way to write Edge off TV by Triple H since these types of attacks are usually done to give someone time off. Edge is not on a full-time schedule so he could be going on vacation for a few weeks or a couple of months and then resume the storyline when he returns.
We will now have to wait and see if he makes his return anytime soon.
