Trish Stratus Breaks Character After Heel Turn

Trish Stratus, a legendary WWE wrestler, is currently adjusting to playing the role of a villain after portraying a hero for almost twenty years. Her recent transformation from a fan-favorite to a heel character has taken her fans by surprise. On WWE Raw’s April 10th episode, Trish and Becky Lynch lost their Women’s tag titles to Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. Lita, who was supposed to be Trish’s partner, got attacked backstage by a mystery assailant. Thus, Trish stepped in as her replacement.

After the match, Trish brutally attacked Lynch, leaving the fans in shock. On this week’s Raw, Trish gave her first heel promo in 18 years, where she lashed out at the fans and justified her actions by criticizing Lynch for not respecting her enough. Trish claimed that she was a trailblazer for female wrestlers and paved the way for the current generation of female talents.

Trish appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio on Wednesday to provide her thoughts on her new role as a villain. Despite being a Hall of Famer with a wealth of experience, she admitted feeling a bit nervous after the promo. However, she also mentioned that she enjoys taking on new challenges and that’s what excites her the most.

“I had to get a point across so that’s what I did… I remember saying ‘God, I haven’t done a heel promo in 18 years. Like it’s been a long time right?… Was I apprehensive? I always am but that’s what’s exciting to me. I thrive on challenge, that’s part of why I’m even doing this.

I speak to a theater of 5,000 people and one thing that’s interesting is when I do Can’s Got Talent the producers always come to me and say, ‘God, you’re so good at getting the crowd.”

Trish also shared that her recent work on Canada’s Got Talent has helped her improve her mic skills and stay sharp on stage. She is yet to receive a response from Lynch, who missed this week’s Raw. However, fans can expect these two fierce wrestlers to cross paths again in the near future.
