Former President Donald Trump recently spoke to reporters on Tuesday morning outside of the courtroom where his civil fraud trial in New York City is being held via Media Ite.
It has been noted that New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) sued Trump, his company, and his adult sons for $250 million in penalties and is seeking to bar them from doing business in New York for allegedly committing fraud by inflating his assets for over a decade.
It is noted that Judge Arthur Engoron found in a summary judgment in September that Trump had indeed committed fraud and the current trial is now to determine the extent of his penalties, which could include the dissolution of his company in the state and forced sale of several of his key assets.
“We’re at trial today that should not be taking place. And as you know, he recently just testified. And he said that Trump did nothing wrong. remain alone who were after he was alone. We got paid back. That was not the fault. It was a very good transaction and we will do it again,” Trump claimed.
“He was a very powerful witness. And we have other executives coming in from banks that will say the same thing. This is a disgraceful situation versus an attorney general,” Trump raged, repeating much of the rhetoric he has used since the trial began.
Trump told reporters that his assets are actually worth “close to 100 times” what James’s office claimed in her suit. “The actual worth is much more than that, so therefore there’s no fraud,” he concluded.
Reuters reported on the scheduled witnesses at the trial for Tuesday, noting, “A real estate appraiser involved in valuing Trump’s 40 Wall Street property is expected to testify on Tuesday, along with a Trump Organization accountant involved in the company’s internal bookkeeping practices.”
Trump, who viciously attacked the judge’s law clerk in the case, also raged against the partial gag order put on him Monday in his Washington, DC federal election case.
“This is a rigged situation. And our country can’t stand these things. And the people of our country understand that. We’re being railroaded. And if other trials were being railroaded you saw yesterday where they take away my right to speak, I won’t be able to speak like I’m speaking to you,” Trump said, adding:
And I’m not saying anything. Well, I’m saying the truth. I won’t be able to do this with that trial. Because the judge which of course, we’re appealing, because the judge said basically I don’t have a right to speak. And I’m the number one candidate leaving the Republicans by 55 or 60 points. That should be over.
“That’s all coming out of the Department of Justice. It’s all set up by Biden and his thugs that he’s surrounded with, to try and sneak out in election victory that he’s not entitled to win because he’s been the worst president in the history of our country,” Trump concluded.
