Trump Getting African American Vice President?

Brett Steel took to Twitter and reported how Tim Scott could become Donald Trump’s Vice President and his future prospects afterwards.

Tim Scott might easily slide himself into the role as Trump’s VP. And then he can duke it out with DeSantis or someone else in 2028. Great man and he’ll add a lot of value heading into November 2024. It’s a good thing that he’s in the race.

In a move that surprised many, former President Donald Trump publicly welcomed Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina to the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Taking to his new social media platform, Truth Social, Trump used Scott’s entry into the race as an opportunity to take a jab at another potential contender, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Trump’s post on Truth Social read:

“Good luck to Senator Tim Scott in entering the Republican Presidential Primary Race. It is rapidly loading up with lots of people, and Tim is a big step up from Ron DeSanctimonious, who is totally unelectable.”

The former president highlighted his past collaboration with Scott on establishing opportunity zones, an investment incentive implemented as part of the 2017 tax cut legislation.

On Monday, Scott officially launched his presidential campaign in his home state of South Carolina, becoming the first senator and a prominent African American figure to enter the race. His campaign speech primarily focused on his personal background, which he believes exemplifies the American dream.

Notably, Trump refrained from directing any negative comments towards Scott, choosing instead to direct his criticism towards DeSantis. The Florida governor currently ranks second in most national polls, trailing only behind Trump himself, and even leads the former president in some state polls. DeSantis is expected to formally declare his candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination later in the week, and his team has interpreted Trump’s frequent attacks on DeSantis prior to his entry into the race as a testament to the governor’s strength and growing popularity.

As the 2024 presidential election draws closer, the Republican primary is shaping up to be a highly competitive and closely watched contest. With prominent figures like Tim Scott and Ron DeSantis vying for the party’s nomination, the race is set to unfold with great anticipation and speculation over who will ultimately face off against potential Democratic candidates.
