Trump Getting ‘Total Loser’ Republican Senator Replaced

Former President Donald Trump criticized outgoing Senator Mitt Romney as a “total loser” while endorsing Trent Staggs, the mayor of Riverton, Utah, as Romney’s potential Senate replacement. In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump voiced his support for Staggs, who is running for Romney’s Senate seat in the upcoming November elections.

Staggs was the first Republican candidate to announce his candidacy for the Senate seat in May. In his endorsement, Trump combined praise for Staggs with a harsh critique of Romney, reflecting their long-standing animosity that began when Trump ran for president in 2016.

“Trent Staggs is 100% MAGA and is running to fill The Mitt Romney, a Total Loser, Seat as the next Senator from the Great State of Utah!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He described Staggs as a “Highly Successful Entrepreneur” who has been the Mayor of Riverton for the past six years. Trump praised Staggs’ experience in creating jobs, stopping inflation, growing the economy, and securing the border.

Staggs, in his initial campaign announcement, targeted Romney as a “Massachusetts millionaire.” Following Trump’s endorsement, Staggs expressed his gratitude, saying he was “honored to have the endorsement.”

Trump’s endorsement further detailed Staggs’ potential impact as a Senator, highlighting his support for American energy, the military, veterans, and the Second Amendment. Trump concluded by stating that Staggs would be a “GREAT Senator, and never let you down!”

Donald Trump endorsed Trent Staggs, the Mayor of Riverton, Utah, for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by outgoing Senator Mitt Romney. In a post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted Staggs’ commitment to “Make America Great Again” values, contrasting him with Romney, whom he referred to as a “Total Loser.”
