Trump Humiliated WWE Star Backstage At WrestleMania

Cody Rhodes is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. It is exactly 10 years down the line since WrestleMania 29 happened and ‘The American Nightmare’ is a part of it. He revealed that he had a backstage encounter with former President Donald Trump at the show.

The Bella Twins and Team Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow) were scheduled to participate in an eight-person tag team match against Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Tensai) and The Funkadactyls (Naomi and Cameron) at WrestleMania 29 but the match was canceled due to time restraints.

Cody Rhodes talks about Donald Trump

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on BT Sport, Cody was asked about his match getting cut from the event. ‘The American Nightmare’ was unhappy how Vince McMahon cancelled the match and scheduled it for RAW the next night. He then revealed that he spotted Donald Trump backstage.

He said [as transcribed by Wrestling-Edge]:

“I go and sit under the stage because I just didn’t want to like freak out right? You don’t wanna lash out at anybody people doing their jobs you know, working hard and Mania is moving on with or without me. So, I would sit under the stage and I felt I’m looking down, I kicked my foot and I woke up and it was Donald Trump because he was walking back. He had his whole Posse had been with him for I think that’s the year he went into the Hall of Fame. So, he’s walking back and he’s like ‘Excuse me young man’ so I had to like shimmy my legs to the side for these 50 people that he had to go by. So I had to get out of the way for Donald. It was kind of like a sobering moment. It was just Donald Trump who needed to literally, he would have walked over you.

We will now have to see if Cody Rhodes is able to dethrone Roman Reigns and finish his story.
