Reports suggest that former President Donald Trump flew on a jet previously owned by the late serial sex offender Jeffrey Epstein this month. This forced the Trump campaign to issue a statement on the matter.
As per the Miami Herald, Trump used Epstein’s former Gulfstream G-550 jet to travel to fundraisers in Wyoming and Colorado after Trump’s private jet, Trump Force One, experienced mechanical difficulties.
The Trump campaign had hired the jet from a private charter service and, as per a spokesperson, was completely unaware that it was owned by Trump’s one-time pal – who was found dead in his jail cell in 2019 awaiting trial for charges of sex trafficking.
“The campaign had no awareness that the charter plane had been owned by Mr. Epstein,” a Trump campaign spokesperson told the Herald. “We heard about the former owner through the media.”
The Herald reported that while Epstein previously owned the jet, this specific plane was not the infamous “Lolita Express.” That plane, which was used by Epstein to transport celebrities and underage girls to his private island Little Saint James, was reportedly destroyed earlier this year.
Back in January, Trump refuted the claims of ever flying on Epstein’s Lolita Express or visiting his “stupid” island after Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo shared fake photos of the former president purportedly on the notorious plane. Epstein’s former pilot testified in 2021 that Trump and former President Bill Clinton were among Epstein’s guests who had flown on the jet.
