Fox News hosts expressed agreement with former President Donald Trump’s claim that ideologues on the left pose a greater threat to the United States than foreign adversaries like China or Russia.
On the show “Outnumbered,” host Emily Compagno introduced a segment by referencing Trump’s comment that the far left is a greater danger to America than any foreign adversary, teasing, “Trump warns that the far left is a far greater threat to America than any foreign adversary. We’ll tell you why we agree.”
When the show resumed after a commercial break, they played a clip of Trump as he entered court for his hush-money trial, where he made the following statement:
“Your problem is from the left, not from the right. Big problem from the left, from within our country. That’s a bigger — in my opinion — it’s a bigger danger than China or Russia. You have it from the outside, and you have it from within. From within is a bigger danger to our country, and it’s from the left, not from the right.”
Fox News guest Kaylee McGhee White from the Independent Women’s Forum linked the far left to China, noting a shared goal of undermining American values. She pointed to recent events on college campuses, where protests included anti-capitalist slogans and chants of “death to America.” She asserted that both the far left and China ultimately seek the “destruction of America, its institutions, and the values that we all here cherish.”
White emphasized that the far left is a more immediate threat because it has control over key institutions and holds significant power in the country. She cited the current legal proceedings against Trump as an example, arguing that Democrats in positions of power are able to bring cases against him. She suggested that China only needs to push a few “dominoes” to cause internal instability in the U.S., a scenario exacerbated by domestic disunity.
