The cast of characters within Trump’s legal team includes individuals with their own unique issues. Boris Epshteyn, Trump’s right-hand man, is accused of interfering with legal advice from more experienced lawyers. Epshteyn, who has been with Trump since his 2016 campaign, has earned the former president’s trust and is said to have the final say on public relations and legal matters. However, some sources ridicule Epshteyn’s self-referential title of “in-house counsel” and draw parallels to the lawyer of the infamous Gambino crime family, suggesting a similar dynamic.
Epshteyn’s involvement has reportedly caused friction among the lawyers representing Trump in the investigation into whether he illegally took classified documents from the White House.
