Bubba Copeland has passed away after committing suicide on Friday evening. The Alabama mayor and pastor took his life after a conservative news outlet, 1819 News ran a story about him posing as a Transgender online on social media and Reddit. The article written by Craig Monger talks about his meeting with then-President Donald Trump when the area was hit by a storm in 2019.
Copeland used to pose as Brittini Blaire Summerlin, a transgender woman. The article had many photos from his social media, and Copeland stated it to Monger that the posts were his way of “getting rid of stress.” Copeland then went ahead and deleted his social media accounts, but the damage was already done. He even informed the writer of not posting these details in the article. Bubba told his Baptist congregation on Wednesday night that he has suffered a “internet attack.”
However, during this time, he also had a secret life playing out online on social media and Reddit. Smiths Station’s mayor operated social media accounts as a transgender woman under the pseudonym Brittini Blaire Summerlin.
After the interview, Copeland promptly deleted the accounts and asked them not to be made public due to his family and position as a pastor. Yes, I have taken pictures with my wife in the privacy of our home in an attempt of humor because I know I’m not a handsome man nor a beautiful woman either. I apologize for any embarrassment caused by my private, personal life that has come publicly.

Did 1819 News byapas privacy and integrity of Bubba Copeland?
According to Mediaite, couple of hours before Copeland took away his life, popular religion blog Friendly Atheist owner Hemant Mehta said that Copeland didn’t have any wrong views about people who like to cross-dress. Steve Bannon had called 1819 News a fantastic website back in August, and his editor-in-chief Jeff Poor had previously worked for Breitbart.
