Trump’s New Speaker To Overturn Massive Election?

The House of Representatives has a new speaker. The new speaker Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) was elected after 23 days of chaos. There were three people who tried before him, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) but all fell short of the desired number.

Mike Johnson’s election looms up a question that will he “try to overturn the election.” This comes due to the fact that Johnson has been supportive of Donald Trump’s attempt to overthrow the 2020 election. The President of the United States Joe Biden held a joint press conference with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia in the Rose Garden of the White House just minutes after the voting went through.

According to Mediaite, He was asked a question by PBS White House correspondent Laura Barrón-López. The question referred to the possibility of Johnson overturning the 2020 election. Biden seemed confident that the Constitution will uphold things.

LAURA BARRÓN-LÓPEZ: Mr. President, thank you. If I may, I have a breaking news question and then an Israel one.

First, after 22 days, House Republicans just elected Mike Johnson of Louisiana as the Speaker of the House. Johnson advocated conspiracy theories about voting machines and a rigged election in 2020. He encouraged his colleagues to join a lawsuit to invalidate the results of four states. So, if you win reelection in 2024, are you worried that a Speaker Johnson would again attempt to overturn the election?

PRESIDENT BIDEN: Because he can’t have — look, just like I was not worried that the last guy would be able to overturn the election. They have about 60 lawsuits, and they all went to the Supreme Court, and, every time, they lost. I understand the Constitution.

It needs to be seen if this does happen. While there are feeble chances that issues will happen, you will have to wait and see if Johnson does something unexpected and cause a concern for the current President.

What do you think of Joe Biden’s comments? Chime in.
