WWE has confirmed two new matches for their upcoming NXT Takeover event taking place on June 1st including the bout for the NXT Championship.
The last Takeover event saw Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole compete in an epic match for the vacant NXT title and Gargano ended up winning this 2 out of 3 falls match.
However, Cole has been demanding a rematch for the title on the basis that he got the first fall in their previous encounter and his request was granted recently when this match was made official.
The second bout which has been announced for the show is for the NXT Women’s Championship between the current Champion Shayna Baszler and Io Shirai.
These two have been feuding for a while and a tag match victory over Baszler as well as a recent incident where the MMA Horsewomen forced Kairi Sane out of NXT was enough of a justification to grant this title opportunity to Shirai.
