Tyson Fury Camp Post First Video After ‘Sickness’

The updates continue to filter in regarding the postponement of the highly-anticipated trilogy bout between highly-regarded heavyweights Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

The fight, which was originally scheduled for July 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada, appears to be off until October at the earliest due to “up to 10 members of Fury’s team”, including “The Gypsy King” himself, testing positive for COVID-19 and/or the new Delta virus stemming from the pandemic-creating disease.

As of Thursday, Bob Arum and Top Rank Promotions were claiming that the Fury-Wilder III bout date was still on, stating the following to the media:

“We continue to monitor the health status of Tyson and his team and the status of the event has not changed to date.”

Another top promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, claims heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte would be ready, willing and able to take the Wilder fight if he chooses to continue on with the 7/24 date without Fury, presuming things go in the direction everything appears to be headed.

With “The Bronze Bomber” seeking legal justice to secure the third ring meeting with Fury, one would assume he will opt against a different opponent and wait until “The Gypsy King” title fight presents itself at a later date.

Speaking of Hearn, his top dog, the IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will be the next heavyweight title-holder to step into the squared circle for a championship defense, as the British boxing star will share the ring with Oleksandr Usyk in London, England on September 25.

Meanwhile another highly-regarded heavyweight contender, Joseph Parker, who was training with Fury, did test positive for the aforementioned Delta strain of COVID-19, shared the following video update via social media on Friday.
