Tyson Fury ‘Symptoms’ From Illness Revealed

“The Gypsy King” is on the comeback trail.

After forcing a delay to the scheduled trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder, boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is reportedly in good spirits as his condition improves following a recent positive COVID-19 test.

An update was provided by longtime Top Rank promoter Bob Arum this week in a new interview with BoxingScene.com.

“His spirits were OK. He had congestion in his chest [Thursday]. But as of [Monday] morning, he seems much better.”

Additionally, Arum noted that Fury must be fully vaccinated to move forward with a third bout against “The Bronze Bomber.”

“He’s fine with it. He got vaccinated in Miami. He got the first shot. And then he said he didn’t wanna get the second shot because he didn’t wanna get sick [from the vaccination] so close to the fight. So, he got COVID instead.”

The longtime boxing promoter also spoke about his comments to reporters at the Fury-Wilder press event back on June 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he claimed both fighters were “fully vaccinated” ahead of their third ring meeting.

“I knew he had one shot, and I was hoping it was Johnson & Johnson, but it wasn’t. It was Moderna. I don’t know if the second shot would’ve meant anything because you still can get COVID after getting the second shot. I don’t know if it would’ve made a difference, really. He still wouldn’t have been able to train with it.”
