UFC 126 Competitors Are Drug-Free According To NSAC

Both headlining competitors Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort passed their drug screenings. Also impressive is the fact that each of the other 11 tested fighters also passed.

Amongst those screened include the aforementioned headliners as well as co-headliners Forrest Griffin and Rich Franklin. Main card draws, Jon Jones, Jake Ellenberger, and Miguel Torres successfully passed their tests, as did preliminary competitors Donald Cerrone, Chad Mendes, Paul Taylor, Demetrious Johnson, Mike Pierce and Kyle Kingsbury.

With the exception of a potential screening hiccup with light heavyweight contender Thiago Silva, the UFC has provided an impressive run of clean results; a shining point for the promotion, no doubt about it.

UFC 126 was headlined by a clash between longtime middleweight champion Anderson Silva and the resurgent Vitor Belfort. Silva knocked Belfort out roughly three minutes into the opening frame with a front kick to the face that’s likely to find permanent placement in Silva’s ever-growing highlight reel.
