Tecia Torres, a UFC strawweight contender, will be out of the octagon for a while. Torres and his wife, former UFC title challenger Raquel Pennington, announced Thursday that they are expecting their first child in June 2023. Torres (13-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) told MMA Junkie that her fighting career is only on hold for the time being.

According to MMA Junkie, She intends to compete once more in 2024. The 33-year-old last fought in April, when he was defeated by Mackenzie Dern in a split decision at UFC 273. Torres was on a three-fight winning streak before that, defeating Sam Hughes as well as former Invicta FC champions Angela Hill and Brianna Van Buren.

We have a little extra to be thankful for this year,” Torres wrote on Instagram. “Happy Thanksgiving from our growing family to yours. …“We are beyond excited and feel incredibly blessed. Mommies love you so much sweet baby, and we can’t wait for this life with you.”

Although they joked about it in a series of since-deleted social media posts in 2016, the two married in July. They intend to hold a large wedding ceremony next year and have asked fans to contribute by subscribing to their OnlyFans page. As a result, Torres changed her name to Tecia Pennington, and it remains to be seen whether she will continue to compete in the Octagon under the name Torres when she fights again.
