UFC Woman Is Pregnant After Fight In Video

Cheyanne Vlismas, a 27-year-old mixed martial artist, recently announced that she is pregnant and plans to continue her fighting career even after giving birth. In a Twitter post, she shared her joy in bringing a new life into the world and her intention to join the “Strong Mom’s Club,” a group of mothers who compete in the UFC.

While Vlismas has not fought since her unanimous decision loss to Cory McKenna in December 2020, she remains a promising fighter with a record of 2-2 in the UFC. After winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020, Vlismas went on a two-fight winning streak that included a head kick finish against Gloria de Paula. However, her last fight with McKenna proved to be a setback, and she will need to work hard to regain her form when she returns to action.

“Well I guess it’s time for me to Announce. I am expecting! The joy these past few months have been knowing I am bringing a life into this world is unmatched. As far as my career goes YES, I will still be fighting. I will now be joining the strong Moms club.”

Vlismas’s decision to continue her fighting career after giving birth is not without precedent in the UFC. Many other mothers have competed in the sport and found success, including former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and flyweight contender Joanne Calderwood. However, the demands of training and competing at a high level while raising a child are undoubtedly significant, and Vlismas will need to find a balance that works for her.

One factor that may work in Vlismas’s favor is the talent-rich nature of the strawweight division, which she competes in. With the likes of champion Rose Namajunas, former champ Zhang Weili, and top contenders such as Yan Xiaonan and Carla Esparza, the weight class is stacked with talented fighters. Vlismas will have plenty of opportunities to test herself against the best in the world when she returns to action.

Overall, Vlismas’s decision to continue her fighting career after becoming a mother is admirable and demonstrates her commitment to the sport. While she will face significant challenges along the way, she has the potential to be a successful fighter and a role model for other women who wish to balance motherhood and a career in MMA.
