UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones successfully defended his title against Dominick Reyes in the controversial main event of UFC 247 this Saturday. However, the champ still reigns mightily over his division, cementing him as one of the all-time greats of the sport.
Jones recently talked to Sports Illustrated where he was asked if he’ll ever be open to working with WWE. Jones’ response to this question was pleasantly surprising.
Jones said that working with the WWE is “inevitable” and that he’s always respected the company and seen both MMA and pro-wrestling as similar sports.
Jones also said that he has all the necessary tools that one needs to make it into the WWE and even an opportunity to show up as a special guest would be a “dream come true” for him.
I think it’s inevitable. I’ve always respected WWE, and I feel like the sports can be so similar.
I have the size and athleticism and the following to transition over really well. To get the opportunity to just show up, even as a special guest, would be a dream come true.
A plethora of former UFC stars are thriving in WWE right now and Jones’ arch-nemesis Daniel Cormier has also expressed his interest in making a transition to WWE in the past. Jones could perfectly fit into the world of WWE given that he’s immensely charismatic and an exceptional worker.
