Why The Undertaker & LeBron James Didn’t Meet At Recent Cavs Game

As we previously reported, The Undertaker was recently at the Cleveland Cavaliers ring ceremony at The Q, as photos were taken of him meeting multiple Cavs players. Taker did not, however, take any pictures with LeBron James who was spotted wearing an Undertaker shirt during the NBA Finals.

When asked why James and Taker didn’t meet by a reader,‘s Joe Vardon responded with the following:

I love this question. For a quick review, The Undertaker was stationed outside the locker room at The Q for an uncomfortable hour (give or take) on opening night, apparently to meet James (with cameras and cell phones rolling for the fine folks at WWE to capture the moment and spread the footage around the globe). The reason, besides the huge publicity it would generate for the WWE, was James wore a T-shirt from Homage with The Undertaker’s likeness on the front on practice day prior to Game 5 of the Finals.

James arrived at The Q before the wrestler and his posse, and claimed not to know he was out there. But of course the word immediately spread through the locker room that The Undertaker was waiting outside.

Here’s a life lesson. If you don’t have an appointment, don’t already know James personally, aren’t a business associate or a small child, the odds of “meeting” James before or after a Cavs game in or near the locker room are not great. I once saw Houston Astros stud second baseman Jose Altuve try to get a meeting with James after a game against the Houston Rockets in Texas. The request came through various team PR officials. Let’s just say James had no interest.

Another rule. James is not cool with someone purposefully trying to make money or gain fame through him, away from the court. In other words, no PR stunts that don’t benefit James. He wore an Undertaker T-shirt. For him, that’s enough.

    Lebron is trash and Overrated!

  • nWo2000

Lebron James is the most OVERRATED basketball player ever!. WWE shouldn’t even associate themselves with the Cavs!

Lebron James is just a “B*TCH”. Spoiled little person who wants everything catered to him. Screw that, he should have gone to TAKER, not the other way around. Lebron KNEW Taker was outside. What ever…

Yeah, he had a full schedule WAAAAAAY back then. That’s the point I was making. Not everyone has all this time on their hands to meet with people that they barely know, unless it directly benefits their cause. Not everyone has nine-tenths of their year off. And who knows? Standing for that long, at Taker’s age, in his condition, could potentially suck a little bit for him. LeBron probably did know he was coming, and just didn’t recognize him when he first spotted him. He probably thought to himself, “Who is this crazy old man standing outside of our locker room?” But yes, if it was organized better by both sides, it would’ve gone down without a hitch.

The was working over 300 days a year since he late 80’s…. Lennon ha never and will never work as hard as Taker will and Lebron, will never play basketball as long at Taker has been wrestling. And Lebron famous for what… putting a ball in a hoop?! My 5 year old can do that. And you’re making it seem like this broke the undertakers heart lol. I really don’t think this is going to ruin Takers day, and it sounds like a miscommunication and the Cavs part and Lebron didn’t even know. I’m sure if he did, then he would have at least said hi. Think before you speak troll lol.

All I’m saying is, the guy sits at home for 350 days a year (give or take), and we’re supposed to feel sorry for him, because he’s not able to be met the first time he just happens to decide to come out of hiding and make a public appearance again? The world doesn’t run on his time. Sorry. People can’t just automatically drop everything the moment the old man wants to be “The Phenom” again, especially when it’s not planned out.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in years. The level of immaturity in this write up is astounding.

First of all, the Cleveland Cavaliers players have been showing love to WWE for a long time. Triple H also sent an honorary WWE title to the Cavs as he does with all major sports teams. The feeling is mutual.

Being that the whole team was there he assumed Lebron would be too. So he missed him. Big deal. That has happened on life before believe it or not.

This is not even close to being newsworthy. When there is no news, we take BS and make it news right?

Please tell me you’re being sarcastic….

  • MrDr3w

Sorry, Taker, it’s not LeBron’s fault he has to work more than three days a year. It’s not his fault he actually has to earn his annual salary. Being a champion is tough work. But to be fair, the last time Taker was champion was what, seven years ago? So I wouldn’t expect him to fully appreciate the responsibility that comes with that.
