While he is expected to re-sign with the company, former WWE Champion AJ Styles has not signed a new contract with WWE yet, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The 42-year old signed with the company in 2016 and he has been featured in a prominent role on WWE programming throughout his run with the company.
Styles’ current contract is expected to expire in April. Although he hasn’t signed a new deal yet, the former Champion has told his friends that he will be resigning and that’s the general belief within the company as well.
While most AEW officials are close friends with AJ Styles, Observer notes that people within the newly formed promotion never expected him to consider a job with them.
He seems to be moving towards a feud with Randy Orton though as of now, AJ Styles has no scheduled match for either Fastlane or the WrestleMania PPV.
