Update on Jeff Cobb contract talks with AEW

Jeff Cobb debuted on AEW Dynamite recently, as the hitman for Chris Jericho. He faced off against Jon Moxley on this week’s Dynamite. The company is trying to get him to sign a contract.

During a media teleconference, Cody Rhodes provided confirmation that Jeff Cobb has agreed to appear more for the company. His match against Moxley was not a one-time appearance, but it seems he has yet to sign a contract with All Elite Wrestling.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan had never met Jeff Cob before this week.

Jeff Cobb was offered a deal this past week. Tony Khan had never met him until this week. Cody had been trying to get him since the start of the year. Cobb had only agreed to a few dates.

It was also said that “they offered him a deal where he could still work New Japan and that’s where talks left.” The company offering Cobb to work in NJPW while signed to AEW is certainly an enticing offer. We will have to see what Cobb does in the end.
