Johnny Gargano appeared to have suffered an injury during the closing moments of his match with Tommaso Ciampa at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV this past Saturday night.
Triple H also confirmed this during the post Takeover conference call, and the Game even said that they had to adjust the final moments of the bout on the fly due to this injury.
However, the latest development in the situation reveals that the whole thing was a work and the match at Takeover exactly went as it was planned from the beginning.
Gargano worked a match during the recent NXT tapings, and he wrestled the Velveteen Dream in a bout that is expected to air on September 5th.
Wrestling Observer also revealed the same and it reported that people within the company have admitted that the Championship match at Takeover went as planned.
