Update on the WWE’s New Cruiserweight Division

The WWE has recently confirmed the following names for it’s new Cruiserweight division that is set to debut on Monday Night RAW on September 19th:

Gran Metalik, Akira Tozawa, Jack Gallagher, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Brian Kendrick, Noam Dar and TJ Perkins.

PWInsider is reporting that as of now this will be the full 10-man Cruiserweight roster, with it being very possible to introduce more talents to the division over time. The plan in place for now is to have the men working RAW TV events, NXT TV events, NXT live events, and RAW live events soon as well.

  • James Stevens

Kota and sabre jr are not signing they have already confirmed that. Kota has unfinished business in Japan and wanted to do both but wwe said no. Sabre jr is very established in Europe so doesnt want the crazy schedule of wwe as he just doesn’t need it

  • Mister Who

I’m hoping TJ Perkins would win, that guy is so inventive in the ring

  • VRA

I can dig it. 3-6 solid programs a year for the cruiserweight championship? Yea I like it a lot. I see an Elimination Chamber match along with a 6 man ladder match at Wrestlemania. I haven’t been watching the CWC for this reason as I want to see how they’re going to make ti look on the main show.

  • CC

Yes but Tozawa and Gran Metalik don’t speak English either. Unless deals still need to be reached, I don’t see why Kota and Zack would not be the main two that they wanted. They have had the most hype all through the CWC

  • Dan

I assume people like Sabre and Kota will probably stick in NXT a bit to be groomed a bit more so when they come in they are above the cruiserweight division.

  • The Killswitch

The lack of Zack Sabre Jr. makes me sad. I’m also surprised Kota isn’t confirmed, either. I guess that’s a spoiler? Granted, Kota probably doesn’t know any more English than I know Japanese, but I guess we’ll see.
