USA Network React To WWE NXT New Timeslot

USA Network and NBC Universal executives have reportedly told their staff that WWE NXT will indeed be leaving Wednesdays and moving to Tuesdays, as we reported earlier. This will leave AEW Dynamite alone on Wednesday nights on TNT.

Dave Meltzer tweeted, “This was definitely a topic of discussion in WWE quarters on 2/24, but at least at that point it was not final.”

Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, who broke the news, responded, “We had gotten the same information last week. NBC told staff this week so a lot more rumblings.”

A fan said, “I call bullshit but if it is true, it is long overdue and it is a admittance of defeat from their motives of stifling AEW (which failed).

Now both shows can thrive on their own nights.”

Mat Men shot back, “This came straight from someone at NBC.”

F4WOnline later wrote, “It appears that the Wednesday Night War will be coming to an end as NXT and USA have been discussing moving the show to Tuesday nights — a conversation that may be in the final stages of being put into motion.”

They later added, “It was believed that when NBC announced a move to fold NBC Sports Network later this year and move some of that programming to USA, the National Hockey League would present a conflict for NXT due to their Wednesday night slot on the NBC Sports Network. However, on the February investors call, WWE president Nick Khan said the shutdown would not affect or impact Raw or NXT.”
