The Velveteen Dream did not compete in any match at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, but he still made an appearance and sat ringside. Dream was also involved in an altercation with Ricochet, Aleister Black against Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, which took place after NXT TakeOver: Phoenix ended.
However, he did compete in the Worlds Collide Tournament at Axxess.
According to a report from PWInsider, The Velveteen Dream was apparently backstage last night for the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View. In addition, it was said that Dream was seen wearing a neckbrace.
“The Velveteen Dream was sporting a neck brace last night. He had wrestled earlier in the day at the Royal Rumble AXXESS event.”
