Viewership for NXT’s USA premiere revealed

After months of rumors and reports, NXT finally made its television debut this week and we saw the start of a new era in the Black and Yellow brand’s history.

The show received high praise from the fans all around the wrestling world and latest report reveals that it did impressive numbers on TV as well.

According to reports from Showbuzz Daily, the show’s premiere episode on USA Network with the main event between Velveteen Dream and Roderick Strong drew a total of 1.179 million viewers.

The episode ranked #4 for the night in the Cable top 150 among the 18-49 demographic and it was behind American Horror Story, Basketball Wives and Black Ink Crew in the rankings.

Though it’s worth mentioning here that these numbers are only for the first hour of the show and WWE has not disclosed the numbers for the second hour which aired on WWE Network.

Of course they are only for the first hour, because you know, WWE has never declared figures and the figures listed above are for “Cable TV” not network subs.

It is most certainly a good figure for the show as from memory TNA was lucky to crack the one million mark when they first went live when they brought in Hogan et al.
All that said, its about maintaining that figure and until AEW’s show starts, it is not an exact indicator.
If they can keep that number once they launch, then that is great.
