Vince McMahon has been WWE Chairman since 1982 when he bought WWE from his father Vince Sr and his partners. McMahon saw quite a few changes in his company over the last few decades on top of that. All through that, the WWE Chairman continued to adapt to the changing times.
However, many fans now feel that he is out of touch and simply has no idea what is good for a WWE Superstar and their growth. The WWE Chairman is larger than life in many ways and he also has his own oddities and problems as well. He also threatened a WWE star in a recent gym video. Vince McMahon has been accused of an affair.
Vince McMahon has stepped down as CEO of WWE while the investigation is ongoing. His daughter, Stephanie McMahon, has since been moved into his position on an interim basis. McMahon is still in charge of creative for the company.
On October 10, 2015, DeMott’s daughter Keri died after she was hit by a drunk driver in Orlando, Florida. While speaking Monte & The Pharaoh on the “LI#1 Pro Wrestling Broadcast,” Bill DeMott revealed Vince McMahon reached out to him after his daugher’s death.
“When my daughter was killed in 2015, Vince was one of the first people to pick up the phone and speak to me,” DeMott said. “And that speaks volumes. This isn’t wrestling, this isn’t a gimmick. This wasn’t so he could say, ‘Hey, guess who I called during his tragedy?’ This was a man, Vince, calling a man, Bill, and sharing a moment and some thoughts and just heartfelt conversation.”
