WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has the final say in anything and everything that goes on in the company, for better or worse. Vince McMahon also sabotaged Jon Moxley’s matches.
Vince McMahon has been WWE Chairman since 1982 when he, along with his wife Linda had purchased WWE from his father Vince Sr and his partners, Gorilla Monsoon, Arnold Skaaland & Phil Zacko. McMahon saw various changes in his company over the last few decades as well. All through that, he continued to adapt to the changing times. However, many fans now feel that he is out of touch and simply has no idea what is good for a WWE Superstar. The WWE Chairman is larger than life in many ways and he also has his own peculiarities.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the various pro wrestlers who flew to the Royal Rumble’s venue but were never used. This is because they were likely going to be used as backups in case the original stars could not make it for some reason.
It was then recently revealed that Ronda Rousey was expected to make her return during this year’s Royal Rumble Premium Live event. Ronda Rousey came back and won the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
I guess Aksana and Jillian Hall were there for potential backups and Io was there. I mean, I could have helped this match a lot.
The WWE 2022 Royal Rumble, which took place from The Dome At America’s Center In St. Louis, Missouri saw many returns including Kelly Kelly, Melina, Michelle McCool, Mickie James, among others. However, it was the worst kept secret of the night as Saturday’s Royal Rumble was ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey’s first appearance for WWE since 2019. She would win the contest by eliminating the current WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion – Charlotte Flair.
