WWE Chairman Vince McMahon certainly noticed the ‘heat’ between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch on last night’s edition of SmackDown on Fox. The situation in the ring became a bit off-script and the awkward confrontation in the ring wasn’t how it ended, as it has been reported that the situation got worse backstage as the two top women had quite the verbal confrontation backstage. There has been a negative response to the title exchange and obviously the fans found it absurd in the first place. But as per reports, both women couldn’t come to a proper conclusion on how it should go. The end result was of course, the awkward exchange in the ring.
Talksport.com stated that Charlotte, “didn’t want to look weak nor did she want her title reign to look weak during the segment…(she) fought all day against the title switch. In fact, it’s believed no one involved was happy about it.”
Fightful Select also added that Flair was asked to leave the arena. They didn’t want her having another run-in with Becky Lynch after The Man’s dark match following SmackDown.
“After the segment concluded, there was a shouting match backstage, and we’re told that Charlotte had stated that dropping the title was accidental. Fightful has also been told that Charlotte Flair was asked to leave the venue before Becky Lynch’s dark match concluded as to avoid further confrontation and let things cool off.”
Many have claimed that after leaving the arena Charlotte went all the way to Orlando to join up with her fiance and AEW star Andrade El Idolo over at AEW.
