Vince McMahon Fired Lars Sullivan After ‘No Show’

Lars Sullivan was released by WWE in January, though the news broke on Tuesday. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is reporting that Vince McMahon wanted to push Lars Sullivan even throughout all of his personal issues and getting ‘buried’ with a Michael Cole interview, but that an action Sullivan took disrespecting the entire company by ‘no showing’ was the final straw for his push before he was then later released.

Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast tweeted, “Some Details on Sullivan’s release. It really came down to creative not knowing what the do with him.He had many stops & starts. His Adult film didn’t really have much to do with the release. It was more his knees issues. There were some big plans for him up until June 2020.”

Meltzer responded, “Not accurate. Vince wanted to push him even now but he no showed TV.”

Wrestle Critic tweeted, “WWE would have had more luck trying to salvage the Titanic than resurrecting Lars Sullivan’s lame ass from the dumpster fire he threw himself into.

Even looking past his controversies, he was never interesting. I have cardboard in my room with more personality. Won’t miss him.”

Podcaster Kevin Castle tweeted, “Lars Sullivan is officially gone from WWE. Yeah this just wasnt gonna work out. Some things cant be salvaged. Will AEW sign him? Highly Doubt it. If he still stays with wrestling. Lars should go to japan. Seriously.”

Soundwave concluded, “Lars was quoted as saying he is unsure the exact reason for his firing but that he will definitely get to the bottom of this.”
