WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had pulled the trigger and released several stars from the company recently due to budget cuts. The main goal was to get rid of the stars who earned staggering amounts per year, and it appears more cuts will come as Vince is on a ‘spree.’
He ended up letting go a lot of high-profile and main-event stars in the process. Recent releases saw the former WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt and two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair getting released. A fan wrote on the F4Wonline.com forums about Ric Flair’s WWE release following Bray Wyatt:
“The two people who actually broke the story first and tripled sourced it also say he requested his release.”
Dave Meltzer responded that Vince is eyeing to let go some more stars who have huge contracts on the table:
“WWE says differently and Vince is in a spree of firing seven figure guys.”
