Vince McMahon Has New ‘Biggest WWE Ratings Draw’

Vince McMahon has a new top WWE ratings draw. During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer noted how Vince McMahon and WWE are reacting to use of international recording artist, Bad Bunny. Here, Meltzer explains that the reason for Damien Priest to wrestle Elias in an longer-timed match on this past week’s edition of Monday Night Raw instead of purely just squashing WWE’s resident rock and roller was due to the presence of Bad Bunny himself. This WWE superstar didn’t ‘follow the script’ during his Raw match recently.

“They think that the longer Bad Bunny is out there, the more Hispanics are going to watch.” He added, “He does do well on YouTube. He does really well on YouTube.”

This past week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was memorable due to the entire show being built around Bobby Lashley winning the WWE Championship from now-former Champion, The Miz. In doing so, Lashley has become the third African-American superstar to ever hold the prestigious title. However, according to Showbuzz Daily, the episode drew an average of 1.884 million viewers on the USA Network. This is down from the 1.889 million viewers a week ago. Vince McMahon ‘refused’ this appearance for a sad reason.

Here is the entire hour-by-hour ratings breakdown for this past week’s Monday Night Raw.

Hour 1 (8 pm): 1.918 million – last week: 1.978
Hour 2 (9 pm): 1.916 million – last week: 1.926
Hour 3 (10 pm): 1.817 million – last week: 1.765
