Vince McMahon Leaks Bold Ted Turner AEW Claim

All Elite Wrestling has been the talk of the internet wrestling community as of late with the apparent signings of former WWE Champions, the former Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. However WWE Chairman Vince McMahon doesn’t appear to be phased by not only the recent alleged signings but by All Elite Wrestling’s status as ‘competition’ on a whole.

Vince McMahon to run shows with AEW? During a the second quarter conference call, McMahon was asked specifically about AEW and how he views them as a competitor. The person asking the question also cited how All Elite Wrestling has made increases to their talent roster and the company’s success in key ratings demographics.

Despite all of that, McMahon stated that he doesn’t view AEW as the same level of competition that Ted Turner and World Championship Wrestling gave them in the 1990s. Credit to RingsideNews for the following quote.

“It’s certainly not going to a situation [like with WCW] where it’s the rising tide because that was when Ted Turner was coming after us with all of Time Warner’s assets as well. That was a different situation. AEW is where they are. I don’t know what their plans are, I only know what our plans are. I don’t consider them a competition like I would WCW back in the day, nowhere near close to that.”
